Maple Weekend Activities

This weekend is Maine Maple Weekend! Maple Weekend is an annual event celebrating the state's maple syrup industry. During this time, many sugarhouses across Maine open their doors to the public, offering tours, demonstrations, tastings, and an assortment of their own maple products to purchase. Here are some must-try spots for Maine Maple Weekend.


Greater Portland Area

Location: Merrifield Farm, 195 N Gorham Road, Gorham

Time: 9am-4pm

Food: Pancake Breakfast (pancakes and sausage), maple baked beans, and hot dogs. Coffee. Outdoor seating. 

Activities:Boiling Demo, Blacksmith, Wagon Rides, and 4-H exhibitors with Oxen. Have your picture taken with ‘Sugar Bear’. Visit the ‘Of Days Gone By’ museum (ticket purchase required)

Location: Waterhouse Family Farm, 939 River Road, Hollis

Time: 9am-5pm

Food: Breakfast 9-12. Hot Beverages. Samples. 

Activities: Boiling demonstrations, face painting 10-2. Farm animals including goats and bunnies on Saturday.

Location: Harris Farm, 280 Buzzell Road, Dayton 

Time: 9am-2pm

Food: Pancake Bites, Donuts, and milk 

Activities: This is mostly a dairy farm so you can see their cows or take a walk around their farm. They also have a 25 mile cross-country ski trails.

Southern ME

Location: 207 Tappers, 125 Dennett Road, Biddeford

Time: 7am-3pm (sugarhouse hours)

Food: Saturday offering maple coffee and baked goods 7:30-10:00am. Sunday offers breakfast at “This Old Barn” (105 Dennett Road). $10 all you can eat and 5 and under are free.

Mountain Region


Location: Hilltop Boilers, 159 Elm Street, Newfield

Time: 9am-4pm

Food: Pancakes, Burgers, Fat Guy Food Truck, Samples

Activities: Antique Power Demonstrations, Wicked Good Ice Carving, Elf-Paca Meadows (Saturday only),

River Valley


Location: Bacon Farm Maple Products, 1427 Pond Road, Sidney

Time: 10am-4pm

Food: 2am pizza trailer, donuts, freeze dried maple marshmallows, samples of smoked maple BBQ rub on pulled pork, hot beverages supporting local Boy Scout Troop 401

Activities: horse drawn wagon rides

Time: 9am-3pm

Food: Donuts and various other food vendors from across the state

Mid-Coast


Location: Fairwinds Farm, 336-320, US-201, Topsham

Time: 9am-3pm

Food: pancakes 9am-11am. Baked beans, hot dogs, and biscuits 11:30-3pm. Subject to sell out. Hot and cold beverages. Ice cream. 

Activities: Boiling demonstration at 10am & 2pm each day.

Location: Maple Rush Sugar House, 123 Webster Corner Rd, Sabattus

Time: 9am - 3pm

Food: wide selection of maple products and two food trucks. Local food vendors. 

Activities: Boiling demonstrations and kid face painting. Offering other craft vendors.
